 ICT as Constructive tool

Definition

ICT as a constructive tool means using technology to help students build their own knowledge with their prior knowledge rather than just receiving information. It allows learners to think deeply, explore ideas, and create new things using digital tools such as word, google classroom, Camtasia,  ppt, and mind maps. Learners learn by doing and creating, not just listening.

Write-up/ Reflection on  Constructive Tool

Constructive tool helps students become active learners. Instead of just memorizing facts, they can use technology to research, design, write, and present their own ideas. For example, students can create digital stories, make slideshows, design posters, or use simulation software to experiment and learn from their own work.

Constructive ICT tools such as Google Classroom, Google slide, blog, VLE, Concept map, and Camtasia significantly augment interactivity, involvement, and student-centered in learning. These tools promote active engagement and knowledge construction through practice, questioning, and collaboration rather than passive reception of knowledge.

Google Classroom, in particular, helped to provide learning materials, assignments, and feedback. It gave a platform online where learning material was easily accessible. It was therefore easier to keep up with work in class, and it will improved overall time management. It also promoted responsibility since the platform allowed for tracking deadlines and observing progress on one's part.

Camtasia is a highly effective constructive tool because it allows educators to design and create interactive learning materials that help students build their own understanding. Teachers can use Camtasia to record lessons, demonstrate step-by-step processes, or create video tutorials with voice explanations and visual aids. This helps make learning more engaging and allows students to watch and learn at their own pace.

Overall constructive ICT tools are important in order to promote active engagement, personalized learning, and digital literacy. They are not facilitators of convenience but are wonderful tools that have the capacity to revolutionize today's education and make it relevant and inclusive.

How to Integrate Constructive tool in the classroom

1. I will let Students to use tools like PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Canva to create presentations on different topics. This encourages them to research, organize information, and present it visually. By doing this, they actively construct their own knowledge instead of just memorizing facts. It also improves their digital literacy and communication skills.

2. I will let my students to make Mind-mapping or Concept Map that helps students organize their ideas logically. They can visually connect concepts, brainstorm solutions, and structure their thoughts. This makes learning more interactive and helps students develop critical thinking skills while exploring relationships between ideas.

3. Even I can't attend class physically, I will use Camtasia to record lesson. I will explain PowerPoint slides to my students through recording in Camtasia. So that I will share with students to continue learning from my lessons at anytime at their own pace.
